Under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) project in Haryana, out of approved detailed projects of 18 cities, the work of 44 Detailed Notice Inviting Tenders  (DNIT) of Rs. 2354.36 crore

  • Chandigarh, June 11 - Under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) project in Haryana, out of approved detailed projects of 18 cities, the work of 44 Detailed Notice Inviting Tenders  (DNIT) of Rs. 2354.36 crore have been allotted and the works of remaining five DNIT would soon be allotted.
  • This information was given in the meeting of the 11th State Level Empowered Steering Committee, which was constituted to implement the AMRUT scheme, under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary, Shri D.S. Dhesi, here today.
  • The Detailed Project Report for construction work of drain in Palwal district was also approved in the meeting. About Rs 1.50 crore will be spent on it. Approval has also been given to release second installment of assistance provided by the Central Government.
  • It was informed in the meeting that under the State Annual Action Plan of the AMRUT Project, the work on water supply, sewerage management, drainage of rain water, green space and park, and urban transport will be carried out in 18 cities including Ambala, Karnal, Panchkula, Sonipat, Gurugram, Jind, Yamunanagar, Kaithal, Thanesar, Faridabad, Palwal, Rohtak, Hisar, Sirsa, Bahadurgarh, Rewadi, Panipat and Bhiwani. The Chief Secretary was informed that under the first installment, Rs 385 crore have so far been spent under this scheme.
  • It was informed that under the scheme, about Rs 700 crore will be spent by the end of August.
  • Others present in the meeting include Additional Chief Secretary, Environment Department, Mrs. Dheera Khandelwal, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Health Engineering Department, Mr. Rajeev Arora, Principal Secretary, Urban Local Bodies Department, Mr. Anand Mohan Sharan and Director General, Mr. Sameer Pal Srow.
