  • Chandigarh, October 11– The Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Haryana,  Dr. Inder Jeet said that the tremendous efforts  being done in  the Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation Program (SVEEP) program, being conducted by the district administration under the leadership of Haryana Chief Electoral Officer Mr. Anurag Agarwal has resulted in an increase of more than three lakh new voters in the State. He said that the number of voters in the State for the upcoming General Assembly Election is certainly higher as compared to Lok Sabha General Election-2019.
  • Sharing more information, Dr. Inder Jeet said that from the announcement of the elections scheduled in the State, the district administration has been tirelessly working for promoting the SVEEP activities across the State to get the common man registered in the voter list and an increase in the number of voters is certainly a matter of pride for the State.
  • Dr. Inder Jeet further informed that in the Lok Sabha Election-2019, as on April 23, 2019, the number of new voters in the age group of 18 to 19 years in the State was three lakh and now according to the new voter list as on October 4, 2019, the number of new voters in the age group of 18 to 19 years has increased to 3.82 lakh, which certainly  shows the impact of the Sveep program and highlights the fact that the program has reached the public making them aware.
  • He said that in the  Lok Sabha General Election-2019, the  total number of voters in the State was 1,80,56,896 and now this number has increased to 1,83,90,525.  He further informed that the number of women voters has also increased by 1.7 lakh and it is a matter of great pride for democracy as well as society.
  • The Joint Chief Electoral Officer said that during Lok Sabha elections-2019, the number of women voters was 83.36 lakhs and now there are 85.08 lakh women voters registered for Assembly Election Haryana-2019.
  • He said that similarly, in Lok Sabha elections, the number of service voters was 1.05 lakh and now there are 1.07 lakh service voters and therefore an increase of 2 thousand have been recorded.
  • He informed that a total of 1169 candidates are in the fray for the Assembly General Election-2019, in which there are 1064 male and 105 female candidates. He said that in Lok Sabha Election-2019, the number of identified Divyang voters in the State was 1.04 lakh and now it has increased by 34 thousand to 1.38 lakh for this Assembly Elections.
