  • Chandigarh, October 10– The Chief Election Commissioner of India, Mr Sunil Arora, inaugurated the state-level exhibition organized under the "Systematic Voter Education and Electoral Participation Program" (SVEEP) and released the SVEEP Action-Plan book here today. Apart from this, audio jingles and TV campaigns were also launched by the Chief Election Commissioner of India. 
  • On this occasion, Election Commissioners of India Mr Ashok Lavasa and Mr Sushil Chandra, Chief Electoral Officer of Haryana, Mr Anurag Aggarwal and several senior officials were present.
  • Mr Arora visited the stalls set up by all District Election Officers of the State and inquired in detail about the voter awareness campaign being run in their respective districts.
  • He also signed the "Voter Awareness" banner displayed in the Sirsa district stalls and inspired the voters to come forward and participate in the Haryana's democratic festival. 
  • He particularly appreciated the documentary prepared by the Karnal district being run in the exhibition. In this documentary, students, women, two castings and elderly voters were taking a pledge to exercise their vote in person. 
  •           At the Kurukshetra district stall, that is being set up in the exhibition, two youths were seen conveying the message to casting vote in the costumes of Shri Krishna and Arjuna and appealing for voting. 
  •           At the exhibition, voters were made aware of the single-use plastic-free election along with the message of voting on packing of food bags, cups, jute bags, caps, T-shirts etc.
