In yet another crackdown, Haryana Police has arrested a person on the charges of possessing 715 gram heroin worth around Rs75 lakh from Jind district.

  • Chandigarh, May 23 – In yet another crackdown, Haryana Police has arrested a person on the charges of possessing 715 gram heroin worth around Rs75 lakh from Jind district.
  •           Giving this information here today, a Haryana Police spokesperson said that arrested accused had been identified as  a resident of village Raithal. He was arrested by a team of Crime Investigation Agency after getting a secret input.
  •           Initial investigation revealed that the accused had brought the seized contraband before the lockdown in the month of March from Barabanki in Uttar Pradesh. Now he wanted to supply it in nearby places after relaxation in lockdown. About 8 cases of theft and NDPS Act are registered against the accused in Jind and Hisar. Even the court had declared him a proclaimed offender in year 2018.
  •           After getting secret input from informer, a CIA team immediately rushed to near village Gulkani and nabbed a motorcyclist who tried to run away after seeing the police. When searched, 715 gram of heroin was recovered from his possession.
  •           A case under NDPS Act was registered against the accused, who had been taken on remand by producing in the court. The accused will be intensively interrogated as to where and whom the heroin was to be supplied.
