  • Chandigarh, October 17 –   In the upcoming General Assembly Elections-2019, for 90 Legislative Assembly seats in Haryana, scheduled for October 21, 2019, candidates will have to take prior mandatory pre-certification from the Media Certification and Monitoring Committee (MCMC) for publishing advertisements in print media 48 hours before the elections, which is on October 20 and 21.
  • Sharing more information in this regard, Haryana's Joint Chief Electoral Officer, Dr. Inder Jeet said that as per the Commission directions, no political party, candidates and any other organization can get the advertisement published in the newspaper without obtaining the pre-certificate by the MCMC committee.
  • He said that in the last phase of the election, any misleading advertisement does not affect the entire election process or no untoward incident happens due to any advertisement, hence pre-certification has also been made necessary for the print media in the last two days. He said that all political parties and candidates should take special care of this and should also ensure that no advertisement is published in the print media without pre-certificate of the MCMC.
