Haryana Staff Selection Commission has invited online applications from candidates for direct recruitment of 6,400 posts of Male Constable (General Duty), Female Constable (General Duty) and Sub-Inspector (Male) in Police Department.

  • Chandigarh, June 11- Haryana Staff Selection Commission has invited online applications from candidates for direct recruitment of 6,400 posts of Male Constable (General Duty), Female Constable (General Duty) and Sub-Inspector (Male) in Police Department. For these posts, candidates can submit their applications online from June 12, 2019 to June 26, 2019 till 11.59 pm through Commissions’ website www.hssc.gov.in. The last date for submission of fees for these posts is June 28, 2019.
  • While giving this information, a spokesman of Haryana Staff Selection Commission said that out of the total advertised posts, 5,000 posts are of Male Constable (General Duty). Of these, 1,800 posts are for general, 900 are reserved for Scheduled Castes (SC), 700 for Backward Classes (BC) A, 400 for (BC)B, 500 for Economically Weaker Sections, 350 for Ex-servicemen (ESM) general, 100 for ESM (SC), 100 for ESM (BC)A and 150 for ESM (BC)B.
  • He said that there are 1,000 posts of Female Constables (General Duty). Of these, 360 posts are for general,  180 are reserved for SC, 140 for (BC)A, 80 for (BC)B, 100 for EWS, 70 for ESM (general), 20 for ESM (SC), 20 for ESM (BC)A and 30 for ESM (BC)B. Similarly, applications have been invited for 400 posts of Sub-Inspector (Male), out of which 144 are for general, 72 for SC, 56 for (BC)A, 32 for (BC)B, 40 for EWS, 28 for ESM  (general), 08 for ESM (SC), 08 for ESM (BC)A and 12 posts for ESM (BC)B.
  • He said that application fee of Rs 100 would be for male candidates and female candidates non-resident of Haryana, applying for the post of Constable (male) or (female) in general category and application fee of Rs 50 for women candidates residents of Haryana, application fee of Rs 25 only for Scheduled Caste, Backward Classes and EWS male candidates from Haryana and Rs 13 for women candidates. The application fee for the post of Sub-Inspector (male), General Category would be Rs 150 for the candidates whereas there would be no fee for ex-servicemen of Haryana.
  • Giving details on educational qualifications and physical criteria for the candidates for the post of Male Constable or Female Constable, he said that for these posts, the educational qualification of the candidate should be Class XII or its equivalent examination passed from the recognized education board or institution. Candidate should have knowledge of Hindi or Sanskrit as a subject in matriculation or in higher education. Similarly, for the post of Sub-Inspector (Male), the candidate should have done graduation or have passed equivalent examination from a recognized University. The candidate should have knowledge of Hindi or Sanskrit as a subject in matriculation or higher education.
  • Regarding physical criteria, he said that the height of candidates for the post of Male Constable in general category should be 170 cms and according to the latest reservation policy of the government, the height of candidates of eligible reserved category should be 168 cms. Similarly, the height of women candidates for the post of Female Constable in general category should be 158 cms and according to the latest reservation policy of the government, the height of women candidates of eligible reserved category should be 156 cms.
  • He said that in every category, seven times the number of vacancies would be declared as qualified in the knowledge test, who would be called for physical screening test. He said that the male candidates would have to cover the 2.5 kilometers distance in 12 minutes, female candidates would have to cover one km distance in 6 minutes and the ex-servicemen one km distance in 5 minutes. Those candidates who would fail to meet the standards of physical screening test, they would be  would  be excluded from the next selection process.
  • He said that the age of candidates for the post of Male Constable or Female Constable should be between 18 and 25 years. The calculation of age would be from the first day in the month in which the applications for the recruitment of Constables have been invited i.e. June 1, 2019. Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes would be given relaxation of five years in the maximum age limit, as per the age-related instructions issued by the government from time to time.
  • He said that the height of candidates for the post of Sub-Inspector (General Category) should be 170 cms and the height of candidates of eligible reserved category should be 168 cms according to the Government's latest reservation policy, at the time of advertisement or rectification, as the case may be. He said that the age of candidates for the post of Sub-Inspector (Male) in General Category should be between 21 and 27 years. Candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Backward Classes would be given relaxation of five years in the maximum age limit, as per the age-related instructions issued by the government from time to time. The upper age limit for recruitment in the rank of Sub-Inspector to all departmental candidates in Haryana Police with a minimum of three years of continuous service, should be 30 years for General Category candidates and 35 years for Backward Classes and Scheduled Castes candidates. He said that for these posts, for ex-servicemen the break in service between the date of discharge and between the first day of the month that is June 1, 2019 , in which enrolment process is started, should not exceed four years as per 12.24(1) I of Punjab Police Rules- 1934.
