  • Chandigarh, June 11 – Haryana Minister of State for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Mr. Karan Dev Kamboj said that under the Public Distribution System, the mistakes in the names of the consumers, if any, will be rectified by June 30 so that they can get ration on time.
  • Mr. Kamboj issued these directions to senior officials in the review meeting of the Department, here today.
  • He said that many consumers have complained the mistake in their names from many areas of the state due to which they are not getting ration on time. In order to redress all such complaints, the officers of the Department have been given a timeframe to redress the complaints of people. Although such complaints have been redressed from time to time, yet, directions have been issued to dispose of such pending cases at the earliest.
  • The Food Minister said that the Department will soon buy its own server, so that the Depot Holder will be able to troubleshoot the online problems related to distribution system and all other types of online problems. He said that all the depot holders have directed to take stringent steps to ensure distribution of ration by 20th of every month. He said that all District Food Supply Controllers have been asked to check depots and send the report so that Depot holders cannot cheat people.
  • Mr. Kamboj directed to take legal action against all the traders of Paddy, who would not deposit their CMR rice by June 30. He also directed to accelerate the process of adding or deletion of names of any of the family members in the ration card. For this, any consumer application will not be accepted personally, but the person concerned should apply on the online portal 'SARAL' of Haryana Government.
  • Others present in the meeting included Additional Chief Secretary of the Department, Mr. S.N. Roy, Director, Mr. Shekhar Vidyarthi and other senior officers.
