Haryana Industries Minister, Mr. Vipul Goel said that the International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav is being celebrated in London today as Indians always follow the belief of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam.

  • Chandigarh, Aug 11 – Haryana Industries Minister, Mr. Vipul Goel said that the International Gita Jayanti Mahotsav is being celebrated in London today as Indians always follow the belief of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. Therefore, propagation of the message of Srimad Bhagavad Gita is very important for world peace”.
  • Mr. Goel was speaking on the second day of the ongoing three-day International Gita Mahotsav in London on the occasion of installation ceremony  of Srimad Bhagavad Gita in the House of Lords and the House of Commons, one of the world's oldest parliaments.
  • On this occasion, the entire city of London resonated with the sacred sound of the shlokas of Srimad Bhagavad Gita and blowing of the conch shell. On the installation  of Srimad Bhagvad Gita in the House of Lords and House of Commons, Industries Minister Vipul Goel thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal and the people of the country.
  • On this occasion, Mr. Goel said, “Today the government is working to promote message of holy book  here, but I urge all of you to become brand ambassadors for its promotion with self-motivation, only then in real terms Gita will be propagated. With this, the knowledge of the Gita will benefit the entire human race, peace will prevail across the world because the world can progress by following the path of Gita”.
  • Secretary to Haryana Governor, Mr. Vijay Dahiya, senior officials of the state government and a delegation of 174 distinguished citizens have also gone to London to attend the event. The delegation included Principal Secretary to Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Rajesh Khullar, OSD to Chief Minister, Mr. Amarendra Singh, Mayor of Karnal, Mrs. Renu Bala Gupta and former Chief Parliamentary Secretary, Mr. Vinod Bhayana.
  • Earlier, on August 9, the program began in the UK Parliament - House of Commons with recitations and verses of Gita. The entire hall resonated with the sacred shlokas of the Gita and the conch sound. At the inauguration, Vice Chairman, Conservative Party of UK, Mr. Paul Scully was the Chief Guest and Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister, Mr. Vipul Goel was the distinguished guest.
  • Others present on the occasion included Member of Parliament of the United Kingdom, Mr. Virendra Sharma, Swami Dharam Dev Ji Maharaj, High Commissioner of India to UK, Ms. Ruchi Ghanashyam, Ambassador of Bangladesh Saida Muna Tasneem, High Commissioner for Mauritius, Mr. Girish Nunkoo, Baba Bhupendra Singh, Ambassador of Nepal to UK, Mr. Durga Bahadur, Additional Chief Secretary, Haryana Industries and Commerce Department, Mr. Devender Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Panipat, Ms. Sumedha Kataria, Managing Director of HSIIDC, Mr. Narhari Singh Banger, and Jai Sharma of Indian origin living in London.
