Haryana Health Minister, Mr Anil Vij said that an Intensive Oral Health Awareness campaign would be conducted till October 19, in the state.

  • Chandigarh, September 9- Haryana Health Minister, Mr Anil Vij said that an Intensive Oral Health Awareness campaign would be conducted till October 19, in the state.  During the campaign, the people of the state will be made aware of effects of oral health on the body.
  • The Minister said that under this campaign, the people of the state would be made aware of the prevention and treatment of all diseases related to the mouth. He said that to ensure the success of this campaign, all civil surgeons, senior dentists and dentists have been deputed on duty so that maximum number of people can get benefit from the campaign.
  • Mr Vij said that under this campaign, the people will be made aware of the mouth diseases including bad smell of the mouth, mouth blisters, mouth cancer, tooth sensitivity and mouth bleeding. The people will also be made aware of the safety measures to be taken for these diseases. The awareness regarding eating habits, the effects of the oral health on the body and keeping teeth clean and safe would also be shared, he added.
  • Mr Vij said that for this, from September 9 to 14, dentists working in all the community and primary health centers would hold a meeting of with their area panches, sarpanches, councilors, and local leaders and would share information about the dental diseases, the treatment available in the government health centers.
  • Similarly, from September 16 to 21, under the National Child Health programme, all dentists would visit schools in their area and would make the students, teachers and other staff present at the school premises aware of the teeth safety.
  • He said that from September 24 to October 5, camps for oral health check-ups will be organised at all the major places of the state such as bus stands, railway stations, and other public places.
  • Similarly, from 7 to 12 October, dentists will give information about how to take care of the teeth to patients in all health wellness centers in their area. In addition, in centers where the rush of the patients in the OPD is low, the dentist will guide the patients coming to the general OPD.
  • He told that from 14 to 19 October, an oral health awareness programme would be held especially for the children and pregnant women in all Anganwadi centers. Apart from this, women would be made aware how to take care of the teeth, throughout the year during the Antenatal care (ANC).
