Haryana Government has issued guidelines regarding seating capacity limits for taxis, cab aggregators, maxi cabs and auto rickshaws for the period of lockdown 4.0 in accordance with the guidelines issued by Union Ministry of Home Affairs.

  • Chandigarh, May 22- Haryana Government has issued guidelines regarding seating capacity limits for taxis, cab aggregators, maxi cabs and auto rickshaws for the period of lockdown 4.0 in accordance with the guidelines issued by Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
  •          Giving information regarding the same, Haryana Transport Minister Mr. Mool Chand Sharma said that taxi and cab aggregator will be allowed to ply with two passengers in addition to the driver. This means that there will be three persons in the vehicle. The Minister said that the maxi cabs can ply with half of their seating capacity and auto rickshaws are allowed to ply with two persons in addition to the auto driver whereas the e-rickshaws are allowed to carry two persons in addition to the e-rickshaw driver.
  •          The Transport Minister further said that the one pillion rider will be allowed on the two-wheelers and it shall be mandatory for both the persons to wear helmets, masks and gloves and the manually driven rickshaw shall carry not more than two passengers.
  •          Mr. Mool Chand Sharma said that only essential activities are allowed in the Containment Zones. Therefore the movement within a Containment Zone shall be strictly regulated and allowed only for emergency and essential goods/services vehicles. All drivers and passengers are advised to install the Aarogya Setu application on mobile phones and regularly update their health status on the application, said the Minister.
  •          He said that the movement of individuals shall remain strictly prohibited between 7.00 PM to 7.00 AM, except for essential activities. He said that persons above 65 years of age, persons with co-morbidities, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 years, shall stay at home, except for essential and health purposes.
  •          Mr. Mool Chand Sharma said that all drivers and passengers should cover their faces with masks or cloth at all times. Motor vehicles should be regularly sanitized and the drivers & passengers should regularly use sanitizers. Social distancing shall be followed by all persons at all times. He said that Provisions of hand wash and sanitizer will be made at all Taxi/Auto stands. Drivers at Taxi/Auto stands shall maintain safe social distance from each other, he added.
  •          Transport Minister, Mr. Mool Chand Sharma said that all the Deputy Commissioners, Additional Deputy Commissioners-cum-Secretaries of Regional Transport Authorities and all Sub-Divisional Officers (Civil)-cum-Registering Authorities (MV) have been directed to inform the officials and employees under these concerned departments to follow the same guidelines.
