  • Chandigarh, May 22- Haryana Environment Minister, Mr. Kanwar Pal today congratulated the people of the state on the occasion of " International Day for Biodiversity " and said that we should pay special attention towards infrastructure and environmental protection as well. He said that human beings have been deteriorating the nature for many years, and perhaps epidemic of Covid-19 is the result of the same. He said that over exploitation of natural resources leads to disasters like floods, droughts, extreme rainfall, storms and epidemics. The Minister said "Our Solutions Are In Nature" is decided as the theme of International Day for Biodiversity to aware people about importance of natural resources across the world.  
  •                  He said that in order to spread awareness about this day across the state, various types of competitions have been organized online by "Haryana State Biodiversity Board", taking proper measures of Covid-19. Quiz competition, photography competition and painting competition are being held online for school children, the last date of which is May 31, 2020. In these competitions, cash prizes and certificates will also be given to the participants securing first, second and third position. Besides school and college students, the public can also participate in an essay competition.
  •          Chairman of Haryana State Biodiversity Board, Mr. Gulshan Ahuja said that under the guidance of Mr. Kanwar Pal, Minister of Forest and Environment of Haryana, Haryana State Biodiversity Board is making efforts to online aware the people about importance of International Day for Biodiversity.
