  • Chandigarh, Sept 10 - Haryana Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister, Mr. O.P. Dhankar, today laid the foundation stone of the Badli Cluster Drinking Water Augmentation Project that will be built at a cost of Rs. 34.49 crore in waterworks of village Badli in district Jhajjar.
  • The project will be completed under the Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission (SPMRM). The project will be completed in 18 months and after this, 17 villages of Badli cluster will get 135 liters of clean drinking water per day-per-person on the same lines of urban areas.
  • The Agriculture Minister said that under the Shyama Prasad Mukherji Rurban Mission, basic amenities will be provided in villages of Badli clusters on the lines of urban areas. He said that for this scheme, an amount of Rs 120 crore has been sanctioned. The work of providing the basic amenities has been started with the drinking water augmentation scheme.
  • He said that this amount will be spent in a planned manner on improving the condition of the streets, drainage system and traffic system and skill development of youth.
  •         Mr. Dhankar said that the Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi has achieved the target of providing LPG cylinders in every household and now the target has been set to provide water supply to each household through taps in the next two-three years. He said that even the Chief Minister, Mr. Manohar Lal had announced during his Jan Aashirwad Yatra that in order to fulfil Prime Minister’s resolution, the State Government will complete the task of providing the clean drinking water to every household in the next phase. He said that in this direction, work has been started at the war footing level in Badli Assembly Constituency. In addition to the amount of Rs 34.49 crore, which will be spent for the drinking water augmentation project of Badli cluster, more than Rs 100 crore is being spent on various projects for proper supply of drinking water in the constituency.
