A review meeting for the celebrations of 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was held by the Executive Committee chaired by the Haryana Chief Secretary, Mr. D.S. Dhesi, here today.

  • Chandigarh, Jan 8 – A review meeting for the celebrations of 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji was held by the Executive Committee chaired by the Haryana Chief Secretary, Mr. D.S. Dhesi, here today.
  • It was informed that mobile light and sound shows would be organized on the occasion of year long celebrations of 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji. The information regarding the teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji would be disseminated among people through these shows in all districts of the State. Also, ‘Jan Jagran Rally’ would be organized which would pass through those areas where Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji had visited. Apart from this, a mobile app has been prepared by the State Government which has detailed information about the teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
  • It was also informed that seminars would be organized in universities and colleges on the teachings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji and their relevance in the present scenario by inviting intellectuals. Apart from this, seminars on the life of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji would be organized in schools besides organizing sports events and other functions. It was also informed that ‘Gagan Mein Thal Aarti’ would be started at a lake in the state which has sufficient water level. The matter related to the approval from the Central Government to facilitate pilgrims interested in visiting Gurudwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur, was also reviewed in the meeting.
  • Discussions were held in the meeting on various issues such as compilation of 100 sayings of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji, including Punjabi language in primary schools, planting 550 trees in each village, launching Swachhta Abhiyan, preparing a booklet on places where Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji had visited and a proposal to name a building the state after the name of Shri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.
  • Others present in the meeting included MLA, Assandh, Mr. Bakhshish Singh Virk, Additional Chief Secretary, School Education Department, Mr. P.K. Das, Additional Chief Secretary, Art and Cultural Affairs Department, Mrs. Dheera Khandelwal, Additional Chief Secretary, Public Works (Building and Roads) Department, Mr. Alok Nigam, Director General, Information, Public Relations and Languages Department, Mr. Sameer Pal Srow and members of Executive Committee.
